Posting Classfied Ads

No! Membership registration in ADflakes is optional.  Anyone can post an advertisement without registration.  Yet, membership registration is highly recommended for those who are going to post multiple advertisements.  For more information for the advantages of having a member account, please check the Membership FAQ.

To post an advertisement in ADflakes, you have to fill-up our advertisement form with the details of your advertisement and then submit it.  There are multipe ways for you to access our advertisement form:

• For both members and non-members:
  • Click "Post Classified Ads (Free)" at the menu bar at the top.  Select a main directory where to post the advertisement (e.g. Buy and Sell).  Select the most appropriate category (e.g. Appliances -> Air Conditioning / Heating). Fill up the form and submit.
  • Click the appropriate item under Main Directories block at the left column of the page (e.g. Buy and Sell).  Click "Post Advertisement Here" button at the upper right part of the page.  Select the most appropriate category (e.g. Appliances -> Air Conditioning / Heating). Fill up the form and submit.
  • Click the appropriate item under Main Directories block at the left column of the page (e.g. Buy and Sell).  Click the most appropriate category at the list displayed below the page title (e.g. Appliances).  If there are child categories displayed, click if any is appropriate (e.g. Air Conditioning / Heating).  Click "Post Advertisement Here" button at the upper right part of the page.  Fill up the form and submit.
• For members:
  • Click "Post My Classified Ads" under Member Menu block at the left.  Select a main directory where to post the advertisement (e.g. Buy and Sell).  Select the most appropriate category (e.g. Appliances -> Air Conditioning / Heating). Fill up the form and submit.

Formatting your advertisement content is very easy.  ADflakes include a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor that contains formatting toolbars that you can use to format your content.

The following media are allowed to be included in your advertisement:

• 4 images (1 MB in filesize each, GIF or JPG)
• YouTube Video (requires only the YouTube video URL)
• Yahoo! Maps (requires complete address)
  

To verify that you input the correct address for the Yahoo! Maps to be included with your advertisement, specify the complete address in "Address for Yahoo Maps" field and then click "Verify Map Address" button.  A window will be displayed with the corresponding map for the specified address.  You can check from the displayed map if it is the correct location.

Yes!  Advertisements posted in a specific City, State or Province will also be displayed when viewing lists for the entire country.

Yes!  Advertisements posted in the child category will also be displayed in the listing for the parent category.  Moreover, advertisements posted in a category will also be displayed in the listing for the main directory the category is under.

There are 2 ways to edit an advertisement:

• Go to your Classified Ads List.  For logged in members, you can click "View My Classified Ads" at the Member Menu block at the left column or click "My Classified Ads List" at the header (right part) of the page.  For non-members, use the Ads Management Link sent to you when you post any advertisement.  In your Classified Ads List, find the advertisement that you want to edit and click the corresponding "Edit" link.
• For logged in members, visit the corresponding advertisement page.  At the advertisement page, click "Edit" at the Ads Menu
  

There are 2 ways to change the category of your advertisement:

• Go to your Classified Ads List.  For logged in members, you can click "View My Classified Ads" at the Member Menu block at the left column or click "My Classified Ads List" at the header (right part) of the page.  For non-members, use the Ads Management Link sent to you when you post any advertisement.  In your Classified Ads List, find the advertisement that you want to edit and click the corresponding "Change Category" link.  Select the new category from the displayed list.
  
• For logged in members, visit the corresponding advertisement page.  At the advertisement page, click "Change Category" at the Ads Menu.  Select the new category from the displayed list.

There are 2 ways to delete your advertisement:

• Go to your Classified Ads List.  For logged in members, you can click "View My Classified Ads" at the Member Menu block at the left column or click "My Classified Ads List" at the header (right part) of the page.  For non-members, use the Ads Management Link sent to you when you post any advertisement.  In your Classified Ads List, find the advertisement that you want to edit and click the corresponding "Delete" link.  Click "Yes" on the confirmation message displayed.
  
• For logged in members, visit the corresponding advertisement page.  At the advertisement page, click "Delete" at the Ads Menu.  Click "Yes" on the confirmation message displayed.

There are 2 ways to repost an advertisement:

• Go to your Deleted Ads List.  For logged in members, you can click "View My Deleted Ads" at the Member Menu block at the left column.  For non-members, use the Ads Management Link sent to you when you post any advertisement then click "View My Deleted Ads" link located just below the page title..  In your Deleted Ads List, tick the checkbox corresponding to the advertisements that you want to repost.  After selecting the advertisements, click "Re-post Advertiements."
  
• For logged in members, you can view the deleted advertisement by clicking the corresponding advertisement in your Deleted Ads List.  In the advertisement page, click "Re-post this Ad" link at the Ads Menu

Take note that flagged advertisements are flagged by the community as offensive advertisements.

For non-members posting an advertisement, a confirmation e-mail will be sent containing the link to publish the advertisement.  If you did not receive your confirmation e-mail, you are provided a form just after submitting your posted advertisement.  Use this form to resend your publishing link to your e-mail address.

There are a few reasons why you cannot receive our confirmation e-mail

• You might have specified the wrong e-mail address.  Double-check that you have specified it correctly
• The e-mail might be delayed because of traffic between our server and your e-mail provider
• Your e-mail provider might have flagged our e-mail as spam or bulk mail as it is system generated so please take a look at those folders.
• Your e-mail account might have been full and can no longer accept further e-mails
• Check that your e-mail account is still active
• Our system cannot bypass e-mail accounts requiring manual authentication as it is system generated
• Your e-mail provider might have been offline or under maintenance during the time that we sent your e-mail
  

Advertisements posted in ADflakes may or may not have an expiry date.  It is you, the advertisement owner, who can decide for how long the advertisements can last in ADflakes.  Advertisement expiration date is defined by the number of days specified when creating or updating the advertisement.  No expiration set means that the advertisement will remain searchable in the system for indefinite duration.

For maintenance in the future, it is possible that very old advertisements will be archived to free resources for the system.  For such cases, an announcement will be released to all concerned users.

Our system asks for your e-mail address when using the system so that we can send you notifications when another user responded to your advertisement or message.  Without your e-mail address, our system will have no way to notify you of pending messages.

Your e-mail address will not be visible anywhere in the website.  We do not sell or rent users' personal information, which includes your e-mail address, to any 3rd party.

The code is used to determine if the submission of the advertisement is done by a human or by a robot.  It is a visual confirmation to avoid spams from spambots.
